Trullo Olivia is in the Puglian countryside in a very quiet peaceful location surrounded by olive, almond and cherry groves. Situated on a hilltop a few kilometres from Alberobello, the carefully renovated trullo has stunning views all around and walking is a pleasant pastime. Sitting on a quiet road with virtually no passing vehicles so safe for families with young children. Comfortably furnished and very well equipped it sleeps 6 people in 3 bedrooms, 2 king size, 1 twin and 2 shower rooms. Each bedroom has air conditioning for the hot summer days but there is also a very efficient central heating system for the cooler months. The large private swimming pool is heated and the trullo has Wi-Fi. The kitchen was completely refurbished in 2020.
Outside the trullo has a private 50 square metre kidney shaped heated swimming pool surrounded by an extensive terrace which has a pool shower. The large barbequing area is under a wooden gazebo and we have recently installed a wood fired pizza oven. On the terrace we also have a pool table and table tennis. Adjoining the trullo is a large, shaded gazebo essential in the hot summer months with rattan dining furniture and sofas. There are quality sun loungers and occasional tables ensuring guests enjoy lazy days in the beautiful Italian sunshine.
Situated in unspoilt Puglia in the heel of Italy, trulli are historic limestone buildings with conical drystone roofs and unique to this region of Italy. Carefully restored by local craftsman and set in the countryside in the Itria Valley a few miles from Alberobello, a world heritage UNESCO site. Here there are around 1500 trulli many still private homes but shops and restaurants too.
The setting of our holiday home is idyllic with far reaching views along the Itria Valley with the ancient towns of Martina France and Locorotondo in the distance. Further afield are Ostuni and Lecce, each town having magnificent historic centers. The Adriatic coast with it’s small rocky bays and beaches is 20km away with excellent seafood restaurants and the Ionian coast around an hours drive has long sandy beaches.
The caves at Castellana and the cave houses at Matera are popular with visitors and zoo safari at Fasano good for families- something for everyone. Or of course as many guests do just laze around the pool totally relaxing.
