"We enjoyed very much our holiday in Trullo Olivia. We know Italy rather well but this part was a real discovery. We visited a lot of beautiful places with very helpful people and very few tourists; the beach at Lido San Stefano is beautiful. The trullo is a great home with everything you could want."

"We have had a great family holiday here at Trullo Olivia. Pretty, peaceful, private and located in a wonderful area. The trullo is very well appointed especially for cooks. We enjoyed eating lovely Italian food in as well as out. The children had a fabulous time playing in the pool after days out visiting all the local towns. All in all a great holiday. Many thanks to Jan & Bob and the team of people who look after Trullo Olivia."

The Exploration of Puglia, Italy

Italy is one of the most visited countries as it is well-known for its rich culture, delightful cuisine, and high-end fashion industry. It offers a wide variety of travel destinations like Milan, Rome, and Venice. Not to mention the pristine beaches of Sicily and Sardinia. However, there are still a few spots in Italy that has not been widely explored. An example of these hidden paradises is located at the heel of Italy. Mainly composed of plains and hills, Puglia is surely one of the undiscovered beauties in this country.

The peninsula can be accessed through numerous chartered flights from the main city or through long drives and land travel. With rich history and culture, Puglia can definitely offer a lot of fun vacation activities and exciting adventures. Here's what this majestic place has to offer:

  1. Amazing and crystal clear waters - the place is surrounded by grandiose beaches. Aside from that, the amazing view of the seas overlooks the limestone cliff. The blues of the sea is equalled by the greenness of the pine trees that cover the said cliffs. You can either go for an amazing day at the beach or delight your eyes with the extravagant view.
  2. A delightful cuisine - ust like any other Italian city or region, Puglia has encompassing varieties of food and beverage. Its own version of red Salentine wine is something you must try when you go there. And of course, fill your belly with the local's staple called orecchiette which is an ear-shaped pasta, the horse meat steak made with the finest and freshest ingredients, and the handmade tagliatelle with garbanzo beans which is called ciceri e tria.
  3. Rich architectural wonders - Walking the streets in Puglia is like taking a tour at a museum. In parts like the Locorotondo , you can see that their village is roundly situated with everything painted in white and the only other colours are from the red flowers that adorn the iron-made balconies. However in the place called Bari, you get to experience the wonders of the Basilica di San Nicola that has been in existence for centuries now. Or in the Ostuni, you can see a more breathtaking view of the sea and experience the breath of fresh sea breeze as you hike up and marvel at the intricately sculptured baroque portals on the whitewashed homes. You can get to experience this kind of way of living by renting some villas.

Surely, there are still a handful of places you need to go and things you need to do while in Puglia. So if you are looking for a new place to explore and discover, consider spending your vacation in this splendid place and you will never be disappointed.
