"We enjoyed very much our holiday in Trullo Olivia. We know Italy rather well but this part was a real discovery. We visited a lot of beautiful places with very helpful people and very few tourists; the beach at Lido San Stefano is beautiful. The trullo is a great home with everything you could want."

"We have had a great family holiday here at Trullo Olivia. Pretty, peaceful, private and located in a wonderful area. The trullo is very well appointed especially for cooks. We enjoyed eating lovely Italian food in as well as out. The children had a fabulous time playing in the pool after days out visiting all the local towns. All in all a great holiday. Many thanks to Jan & Bob and the team of people who look after Trullo Olivia."

How to Get Around Puglia

Located at the south of Italy and more specifically, its heel, there are a lot of ways to get to Puglia and to discover the every corner of the region.

There are a lot of ways to get to Puglia but one of the fastest and easiest ways to get there if you are from London is through air. There are certain airlines that offer budget-friendly flights from the airport of London to Bari Airport. You just need to book them early. It usually takes 2 hours in good weather condition. Bari is the capital of the region so from there, bus and other public transport are available to get you to the other parts of the peninsula such as Brindisi, Foggia, Lecce, Taranto, and Barletta-Andria-Trani.

You can also try to take the shuttle ride from the airport to the railway station. This more convenient but it is more expensive. Another airport is also located at Brindisi called Brindisi Casale. Bus rides are also very accessible in this area. In fact, there are quite a lot of tourist spots you can see in the area like the Basilica di Santa Maria del Casale. From the airport point, you can catch on the numerous coach rides that transport you to Leece. There you can go sightseeing and experience the breathtaking beauty of the baroque styled architectural structures. You can also go to Taranto and be amazed at the wonderful and intricately designed underground sanctuaries and churches. Or go straight up at Foggia and brace yourself for an amazing view of the blue seas.

But if you really want to explore the whole region, it is advisable to hire a van. Aside from having the liberty to choose your own destination and schedule, you also get to explore remote places that are not covered by the routes of the main public transports. Every part and corner of Puglia is worth exploring so when you are there, you might as well make the most out of it.

Getting around Puglia is not as difficult as it seem. The place may have a cliff and sort-of rocky terrain but with the availability of transportation, you can go anywhere you want to go. To fully experience the beauty of Puglia, you can immerse yourself in their culture. Eat their delightful food, drink their famous wines, talk to their people (it would be helpful if you know a few greetings in their dialect) and stay at a lovely villa called a tullo that has surely made Puglia popular. So now that you are equipped with the basic know-how, start packing your bags and ready your eyes for a breathtaking view of this scenic destination.
